The Impact series is uniquely designed to help a believer become a fully trained disciple of Christ. Granted, curriculum is only part of the process, but it is an important part. Whatever curriculum you choose must be based in God’s Word and lead people to God’s Word.
As a pastor for over thirty years, I have come to the conclusion that local churches need disciple making curriculum to help them produce fully trained disciples who look and act like Jesus. Jesus said in Luke 6:40, “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.” In my opinion, the best discipleship curriculum is a curriculum that helps people become more like Jesus. Quite honestly, those options are pretty limited.
Impact Discipleship Ministries is committed to developing disciple making resources that will help individuals, churches, and church leaders develop fully trained disciples. The Impact series was created to teach disciples what they need to know to accomplish the mission Christ has given us: to be and build disciples.
The Impact series begins with Impact One: Disciple Making Essentials. There are certain concepts every single disciple needs to understand in order to accomplish the mission of Jesus. Disciples need to know what they believe, what the Bible is about, basic spiritual disciplines, and their mission in life. These discipleship essentials give every believer the foundation on which to become a fully trained disciple.
Once a believer has walked through Impact One, it is time to study the character of Christ. In Impact Two: The M-7 Project, The Character of Christ, disciples learn how the fruit of the Spirit can be demonstrated in and through their lives. This study is perfect for giving a person a jump start on the life-long process of becoming more like Jesus in their character.
The third step in the Impact Series is In Impact Three: The M-7 Project, The Conduct of Christ. In this study, a person looks at the marks of a disciple that are found in the life of Jesus, His disciples, and their disciples’ lives. By looking at common marks of a disciple in multiple generations of disciples, we discover the behavioral marks that identify disciples of Christ.
The final portion of the Impact Series focuses on leadership development. In Impact Four: 315 Leadership Training, a person discovers how to be a Disciple Making Leader. Based on Jeremiah 3:15, Impact Four helps you discover what it means to be a leader after God’s own heart who will lead with knowledge and understanding.
Once you have a solid theological foundation, understand how to live out the character and conduct of Christ, and know how to lead other people to make disciples, you are well on your way to becoming a fully trained disciple.
